Basketball Game Preview: Long County Blue Tide vs. Wayne County Yellow Jackets

Long County is 2-8 against Wayne County since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Long County Blue Tide will take on the Wayne County Yellow Jackets in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m.

Long County came up into this matchup off a tough 34-point defeat last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Beach by a score of 46-44 on Tuesday. The Blue Tide just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Meanwhile, Wayne County waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 43-30 victory over the Herons. 43 seems to be a good number for the Yellow Jackets as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Long County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Wayne County, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Long County couldn't quite finish off Wayne County in their previous matchup two weeks ago and fell 30-28. Can Long County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
