Basketball Recap: North Providence Finds Home Court Redemption Against Lincoln

There's no place like home for North Providence, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They were the clear victor by a 50-29 margin over the Lincoln Lions on Wednesday. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Makenna Heon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and three steals. Those 25 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elyse Brassard, who posted six points and 13 boards.

North Providence's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 16.3 points per game. As for Lincoln, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

North Providence didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-39 win against Woonsocket on the 16th. Lincoln has also already played their next matchup (against Mt. Hope), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
