Recap: West Shore Christian Academy vs. New Covenant Christian Flames
West Shore Christian Academy suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Monday. They suffered a tough 54-31 defeat at the hands of New Covenant Christian. West Shore Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as New Covenant Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, West Shore Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Lucas Drabenstadt scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Tycen VanDerPloog was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and five steals for New Covenant Christian. Another player making a difference was Alex Canakis, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
West Shore Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for New Covenant Christian, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Shore Christian Academy will take on Dayspring Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dayspring Christian Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52 points per game. As for New Covenant Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mount Calvary Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Mount Calvary Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Thursday.
