Volleyball Game Preview: Metro-East Lutheran Knights vs. Maryville Christian Lions

The Metro-East Lutheran Knights will take on the Maryville Christian Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Metro-East Lutheran has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 24.

On Tuesday, Metro-East Lutheran came up short against Althoff Catholic and fell 2-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Maryville Christian beat Saxony Lutheran 2-0 on Monday. That looming 2-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-23.

Metro-East Lutheran better keep an eye on Judah Amsden. He was instrumental in Maryville Christian's win, getting 13 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Amsden has posted since back in April of 2024.

Metro-East Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Maryville Christian, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
