Baseball Recap: Granite Hills Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Granite Hills unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Silverado Hawks by a score of 6-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-7 back in March.

Vincent Jarvis put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. Jarvis was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Jarvis wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaleb Kutz, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Granite Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Silverado, they pushed their record up to 8-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

While Granite Hills had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
