Softball Recap: May River Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

May River had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bluffton Bobcats a 10-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-0 back in March.

May River let Allie Belcher and Charlotte Berkley run wild. Belcher went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Berkley went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mckayla Landry, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

May River's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Bluffton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

May River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bluffton, they are taking a road trip to square off against Battery Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
