Softball Recap: Gulf Coast Comes Up Short

Gulf Coast lost against Schoolhouse Prep on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Sharks fell just short of the Wolfpack by a score of 5-4.

Taylor Stalling spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gulf Coast saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Rearden, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Gulf Coast's defeat dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Schoolhouse Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.

Looking ahead, Gulf Coast will take on Neumann at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Schoolhouse Prep, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-3 victory against Aubrey Rogers on the 12th.
