Basketball Recap: Eliah Dixon Jr.'s Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Mountain over Mountain View

The South Mountain Jaguars came up short against the Mountain View Toros on Monday, falling 69-43. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Toros are ranked 89th).

South Mountain lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Eliah Dixon Jr., who posted 11 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Mario Pacheco, who put up ten points.

South Mountain dropped their record down to 3-9 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mountain View, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the South Mountain Jaguars duke it out with the Willow Canyon Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mountain View, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 78-57 loss against Cathedral Catholic on the 18th.
