Soccer Game Preview: Marietta vs. Woodstock

The Marietta Blue Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Woodstock Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marietta will be strutting in after a win while Woodstock will be coming in after a loss.

Marietta will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Osborne last Friday. Marietta never let Osborne get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won six in a row.

Rachel Barrau and Niyah White scored all four of Marietta's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Meanwhile, Woodstock had to start their season on the road two weeks ago, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Centennial by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Marietta came up short against Woodstock when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 2-0. Can Marietta avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
