Baseball Recap: Waterville Victorious

Waterville's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Mount View Mustangs. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.

Derek Couture spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, Oliver LeVan was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season. Felix Chapa was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

The victory got Waterville back to even at 2-2. As for Mount View, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

As for Mount View, they will welcome Maine Central Institute at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Huskies have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
