Volleyball Recap: Dale County's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Dale County hadn't done well against Eufaula recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Warriors walked away with a 2-0 win over the Tigers. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Dale County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaslyn Smith led the charge by getting five aces and one block. That's the most aces Smith has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Leah Grace Snellgrove, who had seven digs and one block.

They weren't the only good server: Dale County was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive games.

Dale County's record now sits at 7-13. As for Eufaula, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Dale County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Zion Chapel on the 20th. As for Eufaula, they are taking a road trip to challenge Russell County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
