Basketball Recap: Tohopekaliga Takes a Loss

Tohopekaliga lost against Cypress Creek back in November of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Tohopekaliga Tigers took a 62-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cypress Creek Bears. The Tigers were down 50-24 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Cypress Creek was led to victory by Alikai Creque and Navaris Mora. Creque went 8 for 12 on his way to 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Mora went 9 of 11 en route to 20 points in addition to six boards and six steals. Those six steals gave Mora a new career-high. Kason Beezer was another key player, going 6 of 11 en route to 13 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Tohopekaliga has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Cypress Creek, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-12.

Tohopekaliga didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-50 loss against Poinciana on the 27th. As for Cypress Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-46 victory against Lake Buena Vista on the 23rd.
