Softball Game Preview: Harmony Eagles vs. Hughes Springs Mustangs

The Harmony Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Hughes Springs Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Harmony lost 16-1 to Jefferson on Monday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Hughes Springs had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it 16 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Red Devils.

Hughes Springs pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Harmony, they now have a losing record of 8-9-1.

Harmony suffered a grim 20-0 defeat to Hughes Springs when the teams last played back in March. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
