Taboada Posts Huge Game in  42-32  Victory
 Starting off the list is El Monte's  Felipe Taboada, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Taboada rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. He really tore up the turf  during one magnificent 72-yard run.
 Taboada might have his next game, a road matchup with Rosemead, circled on his calendar. Back in October of 2023 (the last time  Taboada saw the Panthers), he rushed for 206 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry.

Isaiah Standley Turns in Season-Best  Effort
  Isaiah Standley produced his most outstanding game to date while leading El Monte to the win  on Friday. Standley rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, good enough to  set a new career-high in  rushing yards in the process.
 This season,  Standley  has run in 6 touchdowns while averaging 78.2 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season,  he was only averaging 30.8  rushing yards per game.

Another Game with at Least Three  Passing Touchdowns from  Matthew Medina
 On Friday, South El Monte got the W thanks in part to  Matthew Medina playing the best football he has all season. Medina threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes. The  effort  also marked the most  rushing yards (12)  he has had since back in August. He has been hot recently, having  posted three or more  passing touchdowns the last three times he's  played.
 The  victory (which was South El Monte's third in a row) raised their record to 5-3. Medina and South El Monte will venture away from home to  face off against Gabrielino  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.

A Season-Best  Effort from  Richard Inostroz Leads Arroyo over El Monte
 Arroyo came up short  on Friday despite  Richard Inostroz delivering his best game to date. Inostroz picked up 221 receiving yards and a touchdown. He was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 68 yards.
 With the  loss, Arroyo broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-4. They and Mountain View are set to duel  on Friday.
