Basketball Game Recap: Grand Island Islanders vs. Lincoln High Links

The Grand Island Islanders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 50-21 loss at the hands of Lincoln High. Grand Island has not had much luck with Lincoln High recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Nyaruot Wal was Grand Island's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Wal also led the team in rebounds with six.

Grand Island dropped their record down to 1-16 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lincoln High, their victory bumped their record up to 4-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grand Island will take on Fremont at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grand Island is facing Fremont at the right time seeing as Fremont is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Lincoln High, they and Pius X will face off at 5:45 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pius X will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Lincoln High surely won't give up without a fight.
