Baseball Game Preview: Ketcham Storm vs. North Rockland Raiders

For the second straight game, Ketcham will face off against North Rockland. The Storm will head out on the road to face off against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Ketcham will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Ketcham is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New York's top teams: North Rockland, who was ranked fourth at the time (Ketcham was ranked second). The Storm had just enough and edged out the Raiders 8-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Tyler Durkin made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Durkin was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

Durkin wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nick Mondesando, who went 2-for-4 with one double.

Ketcham was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Ketcham's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for North Rockland, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.
