Basketball Game Preview: Seguin Cougars vs. Centennial Spartans

The Seguin Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Centennial Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Seguin picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They walked away with a 61-51 win over V.R. Eaton. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Meanwhile, Centennial came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past the Kangaroos with a 61-56 victory.

Seguin's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-10. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Seguin won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in January, slipping by Centennial 42-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seguin since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
