Softball Recap: Dewitt Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

DeWitt extended their winning streak to four on Saturday, bumping them up to 6-4. They never let the Pioneer Pioneers get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Panthers have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Pioneer, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Pioneer's part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layah Thomas, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double. That double marked the first that Thomas has hit this season.

Coming up, DeWitt will challenge Okemos at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pioneer, they will be playing at home against Skyline at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15 runs per game on average), something the Pioneers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
