Basketball Game Preview: Superior Wildcats vs. Alma Cardinals

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Superior Wildcats take on the Alma Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday... Superior has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 20.

Superior is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Sandy Creek on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Superior was dealt a 60-20 defeat at the hands of Sandy Creek. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-10.

Meanwhile, Alma didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Hitchcock County on Friday, but they still walked away with a 40-36 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Alma's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Superior, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Superior suffered a grim 60-37 defeat to Alma in their previous matchup two weeks ago. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Superior was down 36-16.
