Baseball Recap: Riverdale Gets the Win

Riverdale's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Arlington Red Devils a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Falcons have won six games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Riverdale let Kydin Reed and Grady Phelps run wild. Reed went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Phelps went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Reed has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Evan Reiter, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Riverdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Riverdale back to even at 10-10. As for Arlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

Looking ahead, Riverdale will be playing in front of their home fans against Buckeye Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Arlington, they will square off against Kenton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
