Softball Recap: Hidden Valley's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Hidden Valley extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 5-5 in the process. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Cave Spring Knights. For the Titans, this counts as revenge for the 10-0 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

CAMLYN MORSTAD was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. RILEY EADES was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hidden Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matches.

As for Cave Spring, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games.

On Cave Spring's side, Mya Dunbar made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those hits were Dunbar's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alijah Reeves, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Coming up, Hidden Valley will challenge Glenvar at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cave Spring, they will square off against Patrick Henry at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
