Basketball Game Preview: Fountain Central Mustangs vs. Covington Trojans

Fountain Central and Covington are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Fountain Central Mustangs will square off against the Covington Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fountain Central will be strutting in after a win while Covington will be coming in after a loss.

Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Fountain Central against Riverton Parke as the team secured a 47-11 victory. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Covington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Southmont and fell 61-29.

Fountain Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.4 points per game. As for Covington, their loss dropped their record down to 4-19.

Everything came up roses for Fountain Central against Covington when the teams last played back in January, as the squad secured a 60-30 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fountain Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
