Basketball Game Preview: Groton Tigers vs. Sisseton Redmen

The Groton Tigers will face off against the Sisseton Redmen on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Groton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They breezed past Redfield to the tune of 44-9. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Pheasants recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Sisseton entered their tilt with Britton-Hecla on Tuesday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They took their match with ease, bagging a 62-35 victory over the Braves. Given the Redmen's advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Braves are ranked 126th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Groton's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Sisseton, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.

Groton came out on top in a nail-biter against Sisseton when the teams last played back in December of 2024, sneaking past 48-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Groton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
