Baseball Game Preview: Santa Fe Catholic Hawks vs. Four Corners Coyotes

The Santa Fe Catholic Hawks will challenge the Four Corners Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Fe Catholic is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Four Corners' hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Santa Fe Catholic hadn't allowed a single run the last five times they've hit the field. Santa Fe Catholic never let Lakeland Christian get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Thursday.

Not much got past Jameson McGuire, who gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks to keep Lakeland Christian off the board. McGuire has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Santa Fe Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mike Welling, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Four Corners posted their closest victory since March 12, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past IMG Academy White 2-1.

Cameron Morgan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits.

On the hitting side, Yandriel Soto was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He has become a key player for Four Corners: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2-1 otherwise.

Santa Fe Catholic pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.4 runs. As for Four Corners, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2-1.
