Basketball Recap: Oak Grove Takes a Loss

Oak Grove was the 50-48 winner over Mt. Pleasant when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Oak Grove Eagles fell 66-53 to the Mt. Pleasant Cardinals on Wednesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Oak Grove still got an impressive performance from Dominic Ortiz, who went 8-for-12 on his way to 21 points. Another player making a difference was Derek Trac, who posted nine points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mt. Pleasant to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordon Flagg, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mauricio Heredia, who earned 19 points.

Oak Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Mt. Pleasant, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 7-12-1.

Oak Grove has already played their next match, a 64-35 loss against Live Oak on the 7th. As for Mt. Pleasant, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-49 win against Gilroy on the 7th.
