Basketball Recap: Lake View Comes Up Short

After flying high against San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy on Saturday, Lake View came back down to earth. The Chiefs/Maidens fell just short of the Lamesa Tornadoes by a score of 59-56 on Tuesday. The Chiefs/Maidens were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tornadoes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Lake View saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Xavier Castro posted 14 points. Braylon White was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Lake View's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Lake View is headed away from home for the first time to take on Christoval at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Lamesa, they will take on Greenwood at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
