Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lowell). They blew past the Kankakee Valley Kougars 56-14 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Red Devils sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Brody Kalwinski was his usual excellent self, rushing for 56 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries, while also throwing for 113 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Gavin Gutierrez, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lowell was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 322 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Lowell's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Kankakee Valley, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Lowell didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-14 win against Munster on the 10th. As for Kankakee Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 27-10 victory against Highland on the 10th.
