Rusty Hatch Crosses Big Stat Threshold
On Friday, North Gem got the W thanks in part to Rusty Hatch playing the best football he has all season. Hatch rushed for 223 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per carry. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 2.3 rushing touchdowns per game. Those 223 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
Unfortunately for Mackay, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Hatch. Hatch rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns the last time he and the Miners duked it out back in September of 2023.

Craig Yost's Big Game Leads North Gem over Mackay
Craig Yost posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 264 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 108 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Unfortunately for Mackay, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Yost. Yost rushed for 158 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry the last time he and the Miners duked it out back in September of 2023.

Watersprings had to settle for second on Friday, but Korban Nelson sure wasn't going down easily. Nobody could stop Nelson as he threw for 260 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns.
Watersprings is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5. Nelson and Watersprings will be playing at home against Rockland at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
