Softball Recap: Westfall Finds Playoff Glory Versus Chesapeake

With a playoff win on the line, Westfall rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They never let the Chesapeake Panthers get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The Mustangs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Adrina Hicks was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Anna Snyder was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Cook, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Westfall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

The win (which was Westfall's third in a row) raised their record to 12-11. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chesapeake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.

As of now, neither Westfall nor Chesapeake have any future games scheduled.
