Basketball Recap: Jefferson Sets Scoring Season-High Against Santee

Jefferson scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 95-73 to the Santee Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 80-71 two weeks ago.

Michael Aldridge JR was his usual excellent self, putting up 37 points and four steals for Santee. Santee is 4-2 when Aldridge JR posts 20 or more points, but 1-13 otherwise. Darnell Miller was another key player, dropping a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds.

Jefferson has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points over those games. As for Santee, their victory bumped their record up to 5-15.

Jefferson has already played their next match, a 48-36 loss against Dr. Maya Angelou Community on the 14th. Santee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
