Soccer Game Preview: Highland Tech vs. East Gaston

The Highland Tech Rams will head out on the road to take on the East Gaston Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Highland Tech is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to nine goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Shelby on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Lions. Highland Tech's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, East Gaston waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Gryphons. That's two games straight that East Gaston have won by just one goal.

Patience Shaw and Sasha Harrelson scored both of East Gaston's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

East Gaston's win bumped their record up to 6-4-1. As for Highland Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.

Highland Tech beat East Gaston by a goal in their previous matchup back in March, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
