Preview: Tennessee Vikings vs. Unicoi County Blue Devils

Tennessee is 5-0 against Unicoi County since November of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Tennessee Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Unicoi County Blue Devils at 8:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Tennessee pushed their score all the way to 65 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 79-65 bruising from Morristown-Hamblen East. While losing is never fun, Tennessee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Morristown-Hamblen East is ranked 25th).

Unicoi County suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against David Crockett, falling 77-49.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Garrett Sellars, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Simmons, who scored 13 points along with two steals.

Tennessee's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Unicoi County, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 18-6.

Tennessee was able to grind out a solid win over Unicoi County when the teams last played on January 9th, winning 65-54. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Simmons, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds.
