Baseball Recap: Southfield Christian Takes a Loss

Southfield Christian had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 5-12 to make it six. They came up short against the Novi Christian Academy Warriors, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 on Monday.

As for Novi Christian Academy, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-7. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.

For Novi Christian Academy's part, Tyler Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Brown has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brett Polakowski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Novi Christian Academy is undefeated when Polakowski posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nolan Gallagher, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Southfield Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Novi Christian Academy, they will square off against Oakland Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
