Munster is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Highland is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Mustangs will welcome the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Munster is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Munster got the win against Hobart by a conclusive 11-1. Considering the Mustangs have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Kaylee O'Connell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caroline Wendlinger, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Miah Almaguer was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
Munster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hobart only posted an OBP of .261.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Highland finally came back down to earth on Monday. They lost 7-1 to Andrean. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Fighting 59ers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Highland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Evie Rivera also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Munster is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Highland, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.
Highland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Munster has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for Highland, though, as they've been averaging 9.5 hits. Given Munster's sizable advantage in that area, the Trojans will need to find a way to close that gap.
Munster took their victory against Highland in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
