Baseball Recap: Powell Triumphs

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Powell nor Jefferson County made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Panthers came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 10-7. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

The team relied heavily on Ethan Bales, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The win got Powell back to even at 1-1. As for Jefferson County, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Powell will head out to challenge Lenoir City at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Jefferson County, they will venture away from home to take on Morristown-Hamblen West at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Patriots' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
