Baseball Recap: Paul VI Gets the Win

While Paul VI's victory against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Paul VI Panthers skirted past the St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Saints 5-3. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Aiden Gallagher was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other pitching news, Landon McGinn looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Gallagher wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Vaxmonsky, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Paul VI's record now sits at 3-1. As for St. Stephen's & St. Agnes, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Paul VI will challenge Hartsville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Stephen's & St. Agnes, they will take on Bishop Ireton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
