Soccer Game Preview: South Aiken vs. Aiken

The South Aiken Thoroughbreds are taking a road trip to challenge the Aiken Fighting Green Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. South Aiken is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.5 goals per game this season.

Last Friday, South Aiken made easy work of Gilbert and carried off a 6-1 victory. Savvas Chionakis was a massive factor in the win as he booted in five goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Aiken was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Augusta. JT Lee was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on his (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

The win made it two in a row for South Aiken and bumps their season record up to 9-6. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those two matchups. As for Aiken, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
