Basketball Recap: Six Straight Road Wins for Ridgway

Ridgway had won five straight road games and Sophia Scranton did her part to make it six on Tuesday. The Ridgway Demons took down the Telluride Miners 44-30 with plenty of help from Scranton, who on her way to 14 points in addition to seven assists and seven steals. She has become a key player for Ridgway: the team is 11-5 when she posts at least five steals, but 1-2 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Gardiner, who posted seven points along with eight boards and six steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Ridgway has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points over those games. Telluride has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Ridgway will host Dove Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dove Creek will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Ridgway surely won't give up without a fight. As for Telluride, they will head out on the road to face off against Nucla at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
