Basketball Game Preview: Canandaigua Academy Braves vs. Monroe Red Jackets

The Canandaigua Academy Braves will face off against the Monroe Red Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Canandaigua Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matches.

Last Saturday, Canandaigua Academy took their game with ease, bagging a 75-41 victory over Brockport. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Monroe had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They managed a 63-57 win over the Rangers. The victory was nothing new for the Red Jackets as they're now sitting on 11 straight.

Monroe's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.6 points over those games. As for Canandaigua Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.

Canandaigua Academy was dealt a bruising 99-66 defeat at the hands of Monroe when the teams last played back in December of 2018. Can Canandaigua Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
