Basketball Game Preview: St. Joseph's Prep Hawks vs. Roman Catholic Cahillite

St. Joseph's Prep is 1-9 against Roman Catholic since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The St. Joseph's Prep Hawks will square off against the Roman Catholic Cahillite at 7:00 p.m. St. Joseph's Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Roman Catholic likes a good challenge.

It was a Battle of the Birds when St. Joseph's Prep faced off against Conwell-Egan Catholic on Sunday. St. Joseph's Prep came out on top against Conwell-Egan Catholic by a score of 69-56.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Roman Catholic). They blew past Lansdale Catholic 80-47 on Sunday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

St. Joseph's Prep is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Roman Catholic, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

St. Joseph's Prep came up short against Roman Catholic in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 67-57. Can St. Joseph's Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
