Basketball Recap: Cedar Ridge Takes a Loss

If Cedar Ridge was riding high fresh off their 69-39 takedown of Fort Worth Christian on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cedar Ridge Raiders fell just short of the Rouse Raiders by a score of 45-43 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Cedar Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 680th, while Rouse is ranked 206th).

Rouse's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Luke Baldwin led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Baldwin a new career-high in blocks (three). Isaac Montgomery was another key player, putting up eight points along with five assists and three steals.

Cedar Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Rouse, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-7.

Cedar Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-34 loss against Anderson on the 28th. As for Rouse, they will face off against Leander at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rouse is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season.
