Basketball Game Preview: Faribault Falcons vs. Owatonna Huskies

Faribault hasn't had much luck against Owatonna recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Faribault Falcons will venture away from home to square off against the Owatonna Huskies at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Faribault made easy work of Albert Lea and carried off a 60-40 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Falcons have posted against the Tigers since January 25, 2019.

Meanwhile, Owatonna waltzed into their game on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They skirted past the Raiders 32-30. The 32-point effort marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Owatonna pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Faribault, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.

Faribault might still be hurting after the 61-37 loss they got from Owatonna in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can Faribault avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
