Softball Game Preview: Fleming County Panthers vs. Bath County Wildcats

For the first time this season, Fleming County will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Fleming County Panthers face off against Bath County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in their favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.

Fleming County lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Paris, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's matchup. Fleming County blew past Paris 11-1 on Saturday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by ten runs or more this season.

Abby Ross was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. Ross was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mallory Price, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Allie Conley was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases.

Fleming County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Bath County earned a 5-2 victory over Bracken County on Saturday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Polar Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Fleming County pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average this season. As for Bath County, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Fleming County suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Bath County when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can Fleming County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
