Basketball Game Preview: Alameda Pirates vs. Englewood Pirates

The Alameda Pirates will venture away from home to square off against the Englewood Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alameda's defense has only allowed 26.4 points per game this season, so Englewood's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Alameda is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Fort Lupton just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a hard 53-37 fall against the Bluedevils. The contest marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Englewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against Denver West, falling 47-15. The Pirates were down 37-10 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Having lost for the first time this season, Alameda fell to 4-1. As for Englewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Alameda came up short against Englewood in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, falling 40-29. Can Alameda avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
