The East Valley Knights will square off against the Pullman Greyhounds at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as East Valley comes in on four and Pullman on three.
While East Valley's victory against West Valley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights had just enough and edged out the Eagles 11-9.
Meanwhile, Pullman made easy work of Asotin on Wednesday and carried off a 15-7 win. The result was nothing new for the Greyhounds, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Bailee Randall made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Taylor Cromie was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Cori Stewart was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Pullman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive matches.
Pullman pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.0 runs over those games. As for East Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.
Everything went East Valley's way against Pullman when the teams last played back in April, as East Valley made off with a 15-2 win. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Greyhounds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
