Basketball Game Preview: Malone Tigers vs. Sneads Pirates

The Malone Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Sneads Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Malone is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.4 points per game this season.

On Friday, Malone beat Poplar Springs 60-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Malone's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jamerious Sims, who went 5 for 9 en route to 10 points and eight boards, and Hoke Harkrider, who posted 14 points and seven rebounds. That's the most rebounds Harkrider has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Ford, who earned nine points.

Malone smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Sneads was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 53-41 to Cottondale. The Pirates were down 41-20 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Malone pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.9 points per game. As for Sneads, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Malone strolled past Sneads when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 56-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Malone since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
