Basketball Recap: Canton Central Catholic's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Garaway last Monday, Canton Central Catholic came back down to earth. The Canton Central Catholic Crusaders took a 41-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mogadore Wildcats. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

It was another big night for Amelia Morris, who went 8 for 11 en route to 19 points and seven boards for Mogadore. Morris is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Kasey Bolyard was another key player, putting up six points and eight rebounds.

Canton Central Catholic moved to 10-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Mogadore, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Canton Central Catholic is on the road again on Saturday to play Alliance at 12:00 p.m. Canton Central Catholic is facing Alliance at the right time seeing as Alliance is stuck on a 16-game losing streak. Mogadore has already played their next contest, a 36-23 win against Cuyahoga Heights on the 24th.
