Baseball Recap: Rancho Mirage Comes Up Short

Rancho Mirage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Palm Desert Aztecs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Aztecs this season, with their most recent loss being a 7-5 defeat back in March.

Rancho Mirage saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josiah Thrasher, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Rancho Mirage's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Palm Desert, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rancho Mirage will be taking part in a tournament against Amador Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Palm Desert, they will face off against Palos Verdes at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
