Football Recap: Slater Takes a Loss

Slater had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it six. They were dealt a 61-30 loss at the hands of Norborne/Hardin-Central. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 60-12 to Norborne/Hardin-Central when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Norborne/Hardin-Central, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Considering they have won five contests by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Taven Hughes was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 62 yards and two touchdowns. Those two rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Slater is set to square off against their familiar foe Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Norborne/Hardin-Central will face off against rival Keytesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
