Volleyball Recap: Martinsburg Extends Winning Streak to Four

Martinsburg came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Jefferson Cougars with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-14, 25-14.

Sophia Ray paced Martinsburg's offense, picking up nine kills. Ray got some help from Katie Zittle and her 14 assists. Ray was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Martinsburg's victory bumped their record up to 18-7. As for Jefferson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-17-3 record this season.

Martinsburg has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Clear Spring on the 23rd. As for Jefferson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against South Hagerstown on the 23rd.
